Razmuel sat on a big stone near the Weyr Lake, which had been full of laughter and life when he first came here, sixty years ago. Dragons and people alike had played in the water, which was often a pleasant relief from the sun. Now he could only see the occasional fish jump out of the water. Razmuel bent down, his back creaking. Ignoring the pain, Razmuel searched for a small, flat stone. Finding it at last, he threw the stone expertedly on the water where it hopped on until it finally sunk, after six hops. Yes, he had come back. Why, Razmuel didn't know, it had been nice to be in the Healer Hall, where he was cared after and frequently asked for advice. He was told that there was nothing left in Daliath. In his three-month absence many things had happened it seemed. He was told that Daliath Weyr was crumbling to the ground and it would do no good to return there. Perhaps not. But Daliath Weyr was the place where his heart lay. He had found his first love in Daliath, later married her and had a son with her. A place where so many things in his life had happened could not be ignored. He knew that he could no longer be of any use in Daliath. He was too old for direct healing but the old man hoped that anyone who was still here would not turn him away. The man that had served this Weyr faithfully since before the Weyrleader's parents were born! But perhaps there was no one here anymore. He did not know. A blue fire lizard lay in Razmuel's lap. But really, it was no longer blue. It was almost grey with age now, impressed when Razmuel was a lad. It looked up, opening his eyes tiredly, Salm chirped lovingly to his owner before closing his eyes again wearily. ((Rabbit, this would be a good oppurtunity to introduce your twins ))

(Indeed, thank you for the start.)
"But Lia, it's so hot! No one is around, no one will see or care. Please?" Two girls were slowly coming over the crest of a hill that sat next to the lake. Their appearences were the same, each wearing the same outfit. The one speaking had sleek, straight hair of brown, while the other's curls were held back with a gold ribbon. "No Ree, I will not go swimming with you. It is unlady like to show so much bare skin out on public. Someone could come looking for us and see. Dont you understand? And what out, there's a dirty patch right ahead of..." But Liamine didn't finish her setence, because her companion purposefully stepped right in the dirt. Grinding her foot a little so that her skirt hem was now brown, Rianine smirked angrily at the other. "Was that entirely nessecary?" Gasped Lia, throwing a finger in Ria's face. "If you're going to act all stuck up, then yes. Yes it was." Replied the other, her nose slightly in the air. They stopped a the top of the hill, facing one another, no idea they weren't alone.

The old man was jerked out of his thoughts when he heard voices. Two feminine voices. Relief spread over his wrinkled face as he stood up stiffly, waking Salm who almost fell on the ground but managed to spread his wings out and fly a little, settling down on the stone Razmuel had just vacated.
Razmuel turned around to see the hill that was next to the lake was the scource of voices. Razmuel's sight wasn't as good as it used to be and he struggled making out the forms that were on the the top of the hill. He could only make out that there were two figures on top of the hill, wich made sense since he had heard to voices. "Hello?" Razmuel yelled as loud as he still could. "Who goes there?" Razmuel put a hand to shield his eyes from the sun as he waited for a reply.

Just as the sisters were about to start yelling at one another, a third voice rang around the water. Both girls turned to see an elderly man near the lake's edge, with a blue fire lizard behind him. Liamine squeaked in fear, her face drained of color and eyes rolling back a little. Hiding behind the other, Lia silently abused her sibling with angry thoughts, saying to herself how this was all Ria's fault. A broken smile painted itself across Rianine's face, as she tried to comfort her sister without slapping her. "Just two young ladies out for a stroll. And who might you be, sir?" The sharp gasp dropping from Liamine's mouth told the more outgoing of the two that she didn't approve of her asking the fellow's name. Though it was the polite thing to do, Lia is so painfully shy she'd rather turn tail and run, or walk briskly, away from there. But Rianine held her sister's hands firmly behind her back, trying not to squeeze hard enough to make the other girl cry.

"Razmuel is the name," Razmuel yelled back, but he had gotten tired of yelling, his throat was sore. "Come on over here, and talk to a lonely old man," he beckoned to them to join him and sat on the stone again, shooing poor Salm away and got lost in the lake again, old memories washing over him. It was in this lake where he had so many years ago held Ajasarina in his arms, taking his daughter for a swim. Aja had been afraid of the water and absolutely refused to go if Razmuel didn't hold her all the time. In time it had changed and Aja could be found at the lake every day, assisting dragonriders in scrubbing their dragons or just playing in the water, occasionally she even had a dragon playmate. Gvenna hadn't liked the water as much, and Aja only managed to drag her once to swim in the lake. After that his wife had refused to go near the lake again, she was too afraid of the water.
Now they were both dead. The two loves of his life; his daughter and wife. His grandson was to lazy to keep in close touch, the last Razmuel knew of him was that he was a dragonrider in Ista. Now Razmuel was alone.
Weren't these two girls coming? Razmuel wanted to know all the latest things going around in this Weyr, and he was sure that these residents would know all the latest gossip.
Salm summoned hidden energy and flew to the girls and settled on the shoulder of one random girl, which turned out to be Lia. The blue firelizard crooned in greeting and waited for the girl that seemed nice to scratch his eyeridges.

Liamine shivered as the little creature flew at her. She backed away, and tugged her hand away from her sister's. Fear sparkled in her eyes, directed at the firelizard now seated on her shoulder. "Ria! Ria, get it off! Please." Whispered the girl, but her sibling wasn't paying any attention. Rianine took a firm grasp of Lia's arm and started to descend the hill. This time she stayed clear from the mud, more for the other's sake than her own. It didn't take long before they reached the shore of the lake, and were standing beside the elderly man. "Forgive my sister, she's a big baby sometimes." This got the color back into Liamine's face, as she reddened with anger and slight embarrassment. Nose wrinkled at her sister, Lia stayed quiet, while trying to nudge the little blue dragon away from her.

Salm chirped surprised in Lia's ear, why was she trying to shoo him away? He was only trying to be nice after all! He buried his head in Lia's hair, it was so soft and nice.
Razmuel smiled kindly at them. "Everyone is a baby sometimes," he said, his eyes twinkling. "Do you live here in Daliath young lasses?" He asked, intent on knowing what had happened since he had left. "I used to live here, but I took a holiday and I'm really curious about what has been happening here," Razmuel continued and suddenly noticed Salm's antics. "Oh, and that's Salm, my firelizard. Don't be afraid young woman, he is only trying to be nice," he said kindly. "If you want to, I can take him from you?"
((Ha. ha. Veeeery short post :S))
